Currently, coal mining activities threaten the existence of the Páramo El Almorzadero, located in the eastern part of the department Santander, in the town of Cerrito; responding to the commercial logic that seeks to attribute property titles of natural patrimonium to individuals, existing social and cultural constructions are forgotten that throughout history have made this páramo a territory of great importance for the existence of communities in the province of García Rovira.

Today thirteen million colombians have thirst; millions of children are affected by the bad quality of the wter they are consuming, if it gets to them; hunderd of thousands have been disconnected from the water services because they do’n have the means to pay the high tarrifs; essential ecosystems that guarantee the natural flow of water are in danger.

The Climate Justice Now! campaign, which pledges to recapture the discourse on climate change and contribute to forging a truly pro-people and pro-environment approach to meeting the challenge of global warming.
